We have just acquired a Dolby CP200 at the Grove Cinema Society to replace our aging (and dying) CP50. Unfortunately, the DC cable from the PS1-B power supply to the processor (connector JM1) is damaged too close to the female plug end to be easy to splice. Does anyone know what that 9-way, polarized connector type is called, who makes it and whether it is still readily available from electronic suppliers?

Dolby used the AMP brand "MR" style connector (aka Minature Rectangular) for the CP-200. The 9-pin version was used for the Power and MPU interconnect. For the 9-pin connector, relivent AMP numbers are 1-640511-0 and 1-640521-0 (depending on gender)

The 25-pin MR was used for most of the other connectors (like JM-23, JM-25).

You can get them from your favorite AMP dealer (don't forget to get the extracition tool). I think the pins are crimp only (no solder versions) but if you have a crimper for Molex power connectos it should work well enough (also the crimper for the AMP CPC connector can work well enough). The proper crimper is over $100 and closer to $200.
