Hi All,

I recently acquired a Dolby CP200 for the Paramount theatre in Austin TX. This included a Control Unit, a Processor Unit 2 PS1B power supplies and a SRA5 adapter. The unit original only had 1 PS1B attached to it and thus I need to build the Control Cable (9 Pin Socket) tht runs between the two units, but the AMP part numbers in Dolby's Manual do not correspond to current parts numbers off AMP's website. Does any one know a current part number I can cross reference this to? Also I need to replace the Power switch on one unit.Any one have a replacement part number for it? It is completey smashed into the inside of the unit. Reason I am wanting to do this is this place on a regurlar basis has cast screenings and special screenings in which the Producers and tech people from Dolby and various other entities show up in the booth to set up for the events and I would like the unit to look as pristine as possible. Thanks for any help you can provide.

That is unusual; AMP numbers have been consistent for as long as I've used them (20 years) however, they have an excellent customer service operation. Call 800-522-675, go through the menu selection and get a rep and simply describe the situation. Alternately, go to www.amp.com and select the 'search' feature. AMP number are usually a 4 to 6 digit number 'root number', sometimes followed by a '-x' single number. Type in just the root number and it will tell you if the number is still in production, and what alternates may be avaible.

Later edit: I got hits for both the 9-pin housing (1-350235-9) and the suggested crimp pin (640545-2). This was called their 'MR' (Miniature Rectangular) Connector line.

Thanks Both John's. Would you happen to have the manual in front of you and could tell me what the part numbers were for the jumper that goes from the back of teh processor to the MPU unit is? That way I cna order all the parts today? I will not have a readable copy of the book in fornt on me until 10 :30 tonight.

I can't remember if the connector on the MPU power/control cable is a male or female. The book implies it's a female; if so, JM7 on the backplane is a male. If true, these are the female parts;

AMP socket 9-position housing (black color) 1-350242-9
-alternates if 1-350242-9 not available:
AMP socket 9-position housing (white color) 1-350242-0
AMP socket 9-position housing (red color 94V-0) 1-640521-0

AMP crimp pin for 18-26AWG (gold plate) 350666-2
-alternates if 350666-2 not available:
AMP crimp pin for 18-26AWG (tin plate) 350666-1
AMP crimp pin for 24-26AWG (gold plate) 350697-2
AMP crimp pin for 24-26AWG (tin plate) 350697-1

The crimp pin specified is a cantilever type; there are a few other different kinds that will work if the above numbers are not available.
