I have a paper somewhere that shows this but I can't find it. So, does anyone know which optical track is the left channel. Is it the track close to the sprocket holes or the track close to the picture. I guessed it's the one close to the sprocket holes today.

Edge of the film (sprocket side of course) is the right channel and left closest to picture.

Look in a dolby processor manual under setup and it shows you about the audio tracks.

Also specified by standard SMPTE 203. Track 1 (left) is inboard towards the picture, Track 2 (right) is outboard, towards the perfs.

Oh sure, I guess wrong [Frown] . I used to know that but went brain dead yesterday. At least it's the back-up machine, I'll reverse and set it up again tomorrow.
