I have a WWII vintage DeVry 35mm model XD Navy issue projector w/1000w tungsten source. I am planning to change over to an Ektagraphic 300 watt bulb arrangement. Are there any voltage issues to watch out for?

The EXR slide projector bulbs that are used in Ektagraphic projectors are 82 volts. Not sure on what the Devry bulb is.

You can also use an ELH bulb which operates on 110VAC

The bulb in the projector is 110vac. I should have an ELH floating around. Now it's just a matter of mounting, alignment. I hope it generates the same or more lumens. Thanks for the tips.

Since the projector is already designed for a 1000w source, it should have an adaquate cooling system, I'd suggest looking into a short-arc lamp such as an MSD250. You'll need to get a reflector and a small ballast for it (which you might be able to get from a stage lighting supplier). These lamps are used mainly in gobo-projecting stage lights, and give off a really crisp, white light simmalar to the lamps in the newer video projectors, but about 500 bucks cheaper.
