I've got a pair of Sankor anamorphotic lenses, but i got one problem. One anamorphotic attachment is working perfectly and
picture is perfectly clean and sharp, but problem is in second anamorphotic attachment becose with them the picture is not sharp, i trying to focus the picture but i just can't get clean and sharp like i have with first lens, this problem is hapening from the day the lenses came in projector like new.
Can you help me how to sold this problem or tell mi is there some company in europe witch can solve this problem, also can you tell me are this sankor lenses are producting still today, and what is the web page of company?

Marin, please work on your subject headers. Even though you are trying to not use "teaser" titles, you are.

If you had no idea what this discussion was about and your only hint was "Sankor anamorphic lens"...you still would have NO IDEA what it was about, other than a brand name for an anamorphic lens.

You should have titled this one "Problem with focusing anamorphic lens". Please be careful when starting new threads to ensure that your subject is not a teaser title. This is on the rules page. Click the FAQ link. Teaser subjects are annoying and will not be tolerated.

I had trouble with a pair of Kowa lenses. One was razor sharp, and the other had dull defocused areas in the image. I set them up using Brad's set-up tips here at F-T, and things are OK. It doesent take much adjustment to make a big difference on the screen. Good luck.

BTW: My lens are set nothing like the adjustment indicators on the lens barrel. One is set at 24' and the other is set at 20'.

Both primary lens are the same. I have a feeling that one lens was mis-handled before I got them.

Sankor's parent, Nissan Optical, does not have a web-site. The anamorphic is of fairly simple construction but the alinement and squareness of the optical blocks in the unit affect quality of the projected image.....so it is probably a mechanical problem.

Zorin,
More than likely the front and rear element groups are out of alignment on a rotational basis with each other. These elements have to literally be in perfect alignment with each other to achieve maximum resolution. Sometimes an experienced lens repair technician can re-align them but normally they have to go back to the factory for this to be done correctly. Also, the distance adjustment on an anamorphic lens is not really a focus adjustment, it is an astigmatism adjustment. Few people seem to know this.....

Darren, I'm not sure Marin would know what "bin the sankor" means........ This translates into.... Throw it in the trash and get a good lens!!

Yes, i know what min "bin the sankor", but a pair of anamorphotic here cost me a lot..., so in that way i trying fix myself.

IS it possible that the focus ring has been turned one revolution two far in either direction so that the scale is inaccurate
