OK, I can't figure this one out. Dolby CP65, on loud passages like say during rain storm or music, the sound has a WA WA pumping effect. Otherwise it sounds fine. There have been times when it doesn't do it but most of the time it does. It's not the input level of the CP65, I've tried different input levels from low to high. I originally thought it was the pickup but it does it on 2 different projectors.

did you set your optical gain in 01 mono SR in particlular is very level sensitive

Levels were set in SR. It's possible that the few times it has not done this was on a print with lower or higher track levels. But then if it's that level sensitive there would always be some print that would do it.

And to set the level you did use a Dolby Tone loop...not pink noise...right? If the level is properly set with tone then there may be a processor problem or other system deficiencies present. Also be sure its not the power amps and that you don't have any ground loop present in the system.
