In our theatre we have 2 christie aw3 platter systems one side runs great but recently the other side all the films that come off are extremely loose and very difficult to move. Does anyone have any idea what that problem could be related too? I tried to check the ohms of the motor card connector but i wasnt getting 25 ohms like the tips section suggests im getting like 46 or 48 could this be the problem or could i be reading the ohms wrong prehapes the wrong setting on the multimeter? any help would be greatly appreciated

What is the vintage of the AW3 machines?

Im not certain of the exact vintage of the machine seeing as they where used from another theatre in the area im guessing late 70's to early 80's though.

Do you have "V" shaped legs or "U" shaped legs on the platter tree?

"U" Shapped legs.

Here is a super cheap solution to your problem which plagues the older AW3s with "U" shaped legs.
