In previous posts and in the "Reviews" section we have talked about this platter reel as being the best for moving prints between booths.

On the Golberg website it lists some additional items for it. What does the Centre Drive unit, Film Winding Band, Solid Locking Ring do? - Is it just other words for brain, o-ring?

The Show shipper System is both the giant case that goes around everything AND the platter reel...anything else? Why is it more $$ without the centre drive unit than with it?

Is there any other equipment needed to make this function well?

All you need is the reel itself. Forget the carrying case and for that matter, you don't even need the band and rubber inserts.

Bwahahaha when ya read that you think these people have been around that long..... Yea, right...... when ya work with Goldberg it seems more like they've been around 5 years in the buisness. They just aren't what they used to be!

I've known Randy Urlik for quite a bit of his long career at Goldberg Brothers. He used to be quite active on the SMPTE Projection Committee, and was very involved in the Extended Length Reel (ELR) project -- Goldberg had a very nice design for both reel and case. Always nice to see him at the trade shows.

I don't think Victoria Adams has been with them for a while either. Randy are Don Urlik seem to be handling the reel side of things.

I know that they have been rather indifferent to the fact that their current 70mm reel (floating or otherwise) no longer meets SMPTE specs in width (outside edge to outside edge). All I've ever received was a set of shrugged shoulders.

As to MPR...we have customers that love'em and some that hate-em. As to transport cases...we have those that use them too. When moving a print from complex to complex they are quite handy.

Not only is Victoria Adams gone but the majority of their production machinery is also gone!!
