Is there a way to convert the 5 blade shutter of an Eastman 285 telecine projector to a 2 or 3 blade shutter?

FYI, the telecine projectors only has a two wing shutter. The theatrical versions had a single blade shutter. The gearing inside is completely different, as is the movement, so no, you cant just put a different shutter on it and expect it to look good. You'll have lots of travel ghost.

The 285 is a hopeless case to convert to standard projection. You can use it for some parts to keep other Eastmans going though.
