This is probably a simple question for someone that knows...maybe not a simple answer though. Can you please tell us how to program the Strong X-90 to automatically shut down at the end of any film? The projector is a simplex projector. What questions would you need answered to be able to answer the question? Can my projectionist call you and have you walk them through it?

Need more data to compute answer. The X-90 is a xenon console. What automation is in it? The automation controls the shutdown.

There are at least a half dozen automations that can fit the X-90. Is the xenon just not shutting off at this point and are you applying any cues at all to the film now? The automation works by reading through x number of cues, the number of which can be set on the CPA-10, and of which the last one is the shut down cue which closes the change over, raises the lights to full and sets the processor back to non-sync among other things. Then when the film runs completely through and the fail safe arms(or sensor) drop the lamp and projector both shut down. The exact area the cue is applied to depends on the type of cue detector you have in use. That particiluar automation was built for Strong by Eprad but may not necessarily use Eprads FP-350 cue detector. Strong used a variety of detectors, some contact and some with proximity sensors depending on the vintage. The CPA 10 which is a more expanded version of the Eprad Ultimation can be a difficult unit to program if you're not familiar with it but the manual is here in the F-T manuals section or Eprad, or Strong can supply you with an operators manual. I highly reccomend you get ahold of on version of whats available. Its a great, very flexible automation but sometimes it does a bit more than one would ever need or want. Thats the part you have to figure out based on your running needs.
