After surfing thru the thread about when/where you ran your first solo show, I thought it would be fun to see who has the record for times running the same movie. I ran the movie “From Here to Eternity” 138 times.

During my college days, during the summer months, I worked vacation relief for the Des Moines Projectionist Union in the neighborhood theaters. I would go from one to another for a 1 or 2-week stay while the regular projectionist went on vacation. That movie seemed to follow me that summer, think 1953 but maybe 54. In Ames, Iowa, where I attended ISU, I worked full time at the theaters there while being a student. So when I went back to college that year in the fall, sure enough, here comes “From Here to Eternity” again. And it was held over for 2 weeks.

I now have a copy of that movie and have run it again 2 times at my hangar theater, so total showings is now 140.

I don't know, we ran My Big Fat Greek Wedding 7-months and Winged Migration 11-months. About half the months were a clean 4 or 5-shows per day and half the months one-show per day.

For me, probably Napoleon Dynamite. We got it mid June, and we're still running a full set a shows daily. Our print looks better than most megaplexes look after just a week or two! Thanks Film-Guard!

this summer I worked 6 days a week and at one time we had 5 prints of Shrek 2....my best guess is about 210 times running Shrek 2

Star Wars, first release. 4 shows per day for one full year.

You do the math. Would of been longer, but Fox pulled it from release.

Most time's we brought back the same film....Raiders of the Lost Ark.....7 different engagements over a 2 year period.

Ran 'Raiders of the Lost Arc'in 70mm for 16 months on changeovers.
Had short break of about four weeks and then ran a 35mm copy for two months on cakestand.
I believe that the 70mm copy was sent to America to be used on a re-release.

"Grease", 160 times on changeover (20 min reels), Carbon Arc Lamphouses, Kalee 21 projectors.

Thats 1120 thread ups and changeovers. Geeeezzz, that was a fun time......

(Edit: Sorry forgot to add, support feature and trailer reels, so it was a whole lot more thread ups and changeovers, gee I'm choking back the tears now)
