Technicolor (suprise [puke]

suprise) sent us a bad print of meet the fockers and every time the feature starts our dolby cp-650 switches from channel 10 to channel 5, and this drops the actual sound volume to about half. Is there any way to get the decoder to simply disregard the missleading channel code?

You need to get your tech in there pronto to perform an A-chain. There should not be a difference in volume when the sound drops to analog (05).

In addition at Brad's suggestion, it's not a problem of "channel", when your CP switch to 05 means that the data on the print cannot be decoded and the CP MUST drop to analog sound (FORMAT 05). You should have your print replaced, if the problem is in the print and, as brad says, have an A-Chain check because there should be no appreciable difference in volume level between 10 and 5. probably you just need a Dolby Tone, have your tech to teach you how to perform it frequently by yourself.

Yeah, get a tech out there...also what happens when you manually put it back to 10? Get a new print as well.

..or the reader's LED is getting weak and the camera has a hard time picking up the data. Time to turn up the LED voltage, do an alignment, and/or LED replacement. Plus the usual CPU adjustments.

Yep, "A"-chain sevice is needed, badly.
