Has anyone that has this turret figured out a way to keep the lens from shifting to the left or right?, usually caused by vibration, and opening/closing of the turret for threading.

Tighten down the nut that is holding the eccentric shaft that does the lateral alignment on the front of the turret disc might help some. Plus, see if the metal tab that is attached to the lens ring is pinching against this shaft, for this tab will lose its tension after awhile causing some lateral play in the lens.

A good idea is to order some extra spring tabs from Strong and double them up. They won't loose their holding ability this way.

Has anyone engineered something to replace the manual turret lock? These things are pure garbage! Additionally every time the nylon screw backs off a hair, the horizontal picture alignment is off.

I like the TU2020 and TU2030 turrets, they have a solid feel when you close them and they are easy to use. I have never had a problem with them changing the horizontal picture alignment either.

Yes, but have you had a problem with those relay boards going bad, causing the turret to spin and spin and spin and spin, or not spin at all? If not, you will at some point. But overall, I agree, it is a solid, reliable turret. As for the nylon stop screws on the TU2000, Strong has replaced them with metal (aluminum or steel, not sure which) screws with some sort of soft tips (rubber? silicone?). They should lock down much better now, and they won't break off like the nylon ones sometimes do.

Does anyone know the part number for the metal tab that is attached to the lens collar and if they are still available? I would like to replace a few of them because of a L/R lens shift when focusing.

I went over the turret manual and it doesn't seem to have that part listed.
