Is it possible to wire a typical dvd/vhs or receiver signal into the SMART Mod iii, with a SR-1 Plus, system (secifically the Solar Cell input) in such a way that one would get a center, left, right, surround, and sub woofer channel?

I quess I am wondering if a 'solar cell' signal is fundamentally different than an rca connection.

If it is possible what would such a wiring look like?

The cell inputs are substantially different then RCA... they are more like microphone inputs. If you dont' damage the inputs, you'll definitely not get anything that resembles good sound out of it. [Smile]

Your only option is to use the non-sync inputs (or mag inputs if that box has them, i'm not familiar with it tho).

Your probably better off just running it thru a cheap home stereo system.
