Was this from Amityville Horror? And are you referring to the cuts along the edge on the right side of the picture, or a scratch somewhere amidst the "rain" in the image making it hard to see?

What reel?

I know Technicolor handles print deliveries for MGM, but aren't the prints manufactured by Deluxe? The leaders are identical to Sony's and the orientation of the reels is like that of Deluxe prints.

Its Reel 5 of Amityville

there are three parallel abrasions, The first and most visible one pretty much runs the length of the SDDS track. The second which is less visible runs from the SDDS track through the Dolby and barely into the analog. The third one which you can not see (in this picture) runs completely through a quarter of the frame.

The image that I have posted is a drastically croped from the original to comply with the Upload requirements. If anyone wants a copy of the original...I can email it to you.

Interesting. I had to reject my reel 5 of Amityville because of some very weird looking marks (which appeared to be on the negative) on the projected-right hand side of the image. I wonder if we saw the same thing. (Email me the full rez pic please and I will verify.) I had no audio problems in SRD though.

Also for clarification, that has nothing to do with Technicolor. Those prints were made by Deluxe. Technicolor only shipped the print to your theater. Still though, anybody can make a mistake here and there. Odds are a large batch of bad reel 5s went out.

Those diagonal scratches that come in from the edge along the right side may have been caused by the film riding up onto the flange of a roller.
