Saw this noted on our can for "Kung Fu Hustle" that just came in today. Anyone know what FUJI-HC is or what it means?

THis is probably the High Contrast print stock CP3513DI - a rough equivalent to Kodak Vision Premiere stock.

Thanks, Dominic, that was my suspicion, but I wasn't sure. Other than that label, is there a way to identify it on the film itself... similar to the 2383 vs 2393 numbers on Kodak stock?

I think you will find the numbers (magenta coloured) on the film edge just as with Kodak. 3513 is the higher contrast stock, 3510 is the regular.

Of course Kodak was the first to develop and use magenta colored edgeprint, to minimize interference with the Sony SDDS track.

And Kodak developed the technology and "look" featured in Kodak VISION Premier Color Print film, recognized by several patents and an Academy Scientific and Engineering Award in 2002:

Looking at all those faded Eastmancolor prints from the '60s and '70s, it would seem that Kodak was the first to develop and use magenta coloured pictures, too! [Big Grin]
