I ran into a major problem attempting to thread up one of my machines the other day. The problem is that there are several pieces of conduit running out of my pedestal between the upper and lower magazine rollers; therefore, I cannot pull the film around because it cannot get on the other side of the conduit. What is the next best method of threading that will yield the finest presentation?

You're probably going to have to thread to the lower bypass roller, before pulling back to the platter column for take up. It sounds like your conduit is higher than the lower roller. This should not be the case in a proper installation, but I've seen this in some installations. We'll blame the electrician for this one [Big Grin]

It's crappy installations at it's finest!

Anyway, don't thread through that lower roller underneath the projector. Instead wrap around the projector (open the soundhead door if you need to keep the film in place) and underneath the projector. If you do it that way, the film will still be a good distance from the floor, whereas threading it through that lower roller puts the film much closer to the floor.

..sound like a good time to figure out a new lower guidance roller path to platter arrangement to ease threading some...in which I've had to do at a few places due to "classic installations.."
