Subject says it, will it fit physically, and would it align and focus properly?

Yes, with the correct adaptors! There is just about every type of adaptor for any lamp available for the L-2000.

Same lamphouse. Could it run a 2.5K or 3K bulb? Would the glass reflector need to be changed?

Yes it will work OK. Same reflector. Beware, however, older Kneisleys had a different igniter for high wattages. Newer ones used the 4k igniter for everything.

(See, we've had "4K" for decades! Louis

Yes, I've done this. As somone else pointed out, you need
to get the correct bulb adapters. I think they cost us
around $50. To be safe we also added extra ventalation.

The lamphouse we had already had the larger igniter so that
was not an issue.

It's the same conversion I did on an L-1000 that I posted
pictures of here some time ago.

We did this about 2 years ago and haven't had any problems.

We will probably be going to a 2.5K, possibly a 3K. I'll try it with the igniter that is in there first I guess. We need a new PS though. The Irem that's in there now only goes up to 2K.
