It all started when I tryed to upgrade the software on this 6AD dts.
The unit would not read the disc.
Was told to replace the 740 board , I received a new one installed it ran the software upgrade and all was well.

Sound is fine on Nonsync , SR and DTS but after unit has been operating for about 5 minutes sound in SR starts to stutter and break down.

I have tryed the board in another dts unit and the result is the same.

Would this be a faulty board or a sofware issue ?

Are you using 2.06v disk ?? I would try to reload it, if still same, you could have a bad board.... Also be sure to check the DTS reader voltage for 4-volts, this does not have any effect on SR, but will assure the reader is working properly to read timecode....

Yes Don using the 2.06 upgrade disc. have loaded it several times but sound in SR still keeps breaking up . I would have thought the reader would only effect Digital sound

Don would be correct, if reloading the software has not fixed the problem it is the board.

yes mike that is what I would have thought, DTs have been telling me for 2 weeks that it is a software fault.

I thought it funny that the old board works fine in SR but the new board does not , with the same software.

and I would have thought that is it was software problems the fault would be present from the moment it was turned on not 5 minutes after , sounds like a dry joint to me .
