I've got a pair of old automation boxes in my theatre which you have to manually cycle the program. The cam timer inside is labeled 0 to 100. 0 to 50 is the startup cycle and an outboard cue will trigger it to run from 50 back to 0. To start the show, the cycle button is pressed and after around 3 seconds the start button is pressed. This gets things timed out so the CO douser opens right before the picture hits the screen. Does anyone else have an automation like this or know anything else aobut them?

Cam timers were very popular in projection automations prior to cheap microprocessors. A few manufacturers still use them. Some did a complete 360' turn, others would turn 180' then stop, turn another 180' until the end.

You would have to tell us the model of the automations to answer any specific questions.
