We recently had one of our Ashley amps cooling fans die on us and I was wondering if anyone knew what size they were? I havent been able to get inside of them yet to figure it out. Im assuming its a 4 inch 115 volt fan? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Order the part from Ashly, unless it is a 'Muffin' type fan (and carries a Rotron part number, then if you get the exact same fan you should be OK).

Older QSC amps use custom made fans, for example.

It's a standard 4" fan, but they are inexpensive from Ashly; so I agree: get them there. 1-800-828-6308

I had a fan on one of my Ashleys (the Cinema Series from the 80's) go last year and was able to get a replacement fan that fit at Grainger. It was a bigger fan and moves a lot more cfm of air but it does the job.

EDIT - the fan I used was a Dayton 110 cfm axial fan. No 4C550.

What ever you do just be sure that its a ball bearing fan or you'll be replacing it every 6 months. Grainger fans are good, I use alot of them with almost no troubles at all.

Aaron,

Are you referring to the childs phonograph motor they use in the 1200, 1400, etc., and in the USA series?

The reason I suggested Ashly is that failure on factory fans is actually quite low. Since 1985, I've only changed about 20. Not bad for selling 500-800 per year.
