I searched for this one yesterday but could not find it.

When connecting a DA20 to a CP45, which format button on the front panel of the 45 does Dolby Digital play through? I would be guessing the AUX/Non-sync format, but that is number 61 where SR-D is 10 (or do the format #'s matter anymore)?

I was wondering the same thing for DTS and a CP65. Does DTS play through the AUX or Misc. format?

Just a couple of questions I've been pondering for a while...

On a CP65, the dts plays through "digital". I don't like, nor use CP45s so someone else will have to chime in for that.

Or of course there is another option, you could read the dts manual. It's all explained in there very clearly. [Wink]

The 2 that I have go through "Non Sync 2/Aux".

You'll need the stereo surround card of course, and watch out for the subwoofer level. The aux sub input on the CP45 is at a different reference level to every other Dolby processor, I assumed that this would be corrected for internally, but on the first one I did with SR.D, I had loads of sub that I couldn't control. A colleague spotted the level discrepancy, so you have ot add a resistive attenuator. Of course with DTS you can simply pull the level down on the DTS player

Also remember the DTS-6/6D will allow you to configure it for mono surround output. While that is not an ideal solution, it might be a more financially realistic option than stereo surrounds in case the processor/amps/speaker wiring won't yield stereo paths without major modification.
