Can a PS1B power supply be used for a CP50 as an emergency back up? There is a 3 volt dfference (plus and minus 15v instead of 12v). SR cards are fitted to the processor which may draw a little more current.

Whereas neither are regulated supplies and they both use identical cards...yes you can use it.
Note, the 12V supplies on the CP50 are kind of a "wink and nudge" sort of thing. Pull all of the cards out...watch the rails rise...put them in 1 by 1 watch them fall...if they get to 10 Volts...you loose, you will have hum. The PS1B just has more umph behind it (much larger filters and bigger transformer) plus a delayed 24-volt output.
