hello everyone, new on here... nice forums [Cool]

i work as a projectionist at appollo 4 cinema in Morecambe (UK)

we have been experiencing some problems using the strong international, cpa-10 automation system we have here...

does anyone else on here have any experience with using these units?

have had various fault messages coming up on the screen, usually says "program start times memory fault", or "supervisory memory fault"... [Eek!]

programs won't run automatically...

any ideas?

Ok, CPA-10's are my forte' - you need to reprogramme the entire unit. If you have a manual there, or if not, head to the left tab where you see "manuals", plus with having Adobe in your computer and click on the "Strong CPA-10" tab to read this manual. For you need to study that thing carefully, for what you have is a software driven, computer based automation that is operated by batchfile lines-lines that are in order and operations in a certain order for the unit to work.

The commands on the screen almost tells me that your RAM battery onboard the momboard had almost taken a dump. It's a 3.2v half "AA" battery with leads on each end, and the leads just plugs into the momboard.

Those "Fault" lines are checksum errors that come up when powering up that each "boot" command isn't matching the certain checksum number for a proper boot. Before any programming is to begin, we must first, clear out any error lines in all of the program modes before any reprogramming can commence. Otherwise, these checksum errors will keep coming up.

If you can list down how each of your house starts up (if have preshow digital projector for ads, lights-both house and stage, curtains, what kind of projectors you have (these were great for Simplex 1050 with autoturrets..) and what else you have before the show hits the screen, I can then probably help you on this. Joe, Monte has described exactly the procedure and problem I spoke to someone from your site about on the phone a couple of weeks ago. I'm surmising no one managed to do it successfully? Please give your engineer, Chris, a call and arrange a visit from him.

Actually I replace all backup batteries about every 5 years or there abouts so this doesn't happen. They're all of $3.00 a battery......
