I hav a question for the experts. On a Cinemeccancia V-8r will a kelmar upper and lower arm work. I know the upper can be adapted but what kind of belt feed does the bottom have. Is it a belt feed that could align up with a kelmar arm.

That's going to be a bit of a problem. The belt on the Kelmar arm uses a "V" type, while the drive on the V8 was a flat, toothed belt. Don't know if they will line up vertically, though.

..unless, you can ask around at some part houses for those 10k lower takeup arms that belongs to the V8r units...even the 10k upper arms while you're at it.

To give you an idea on what they would look like...

This V8r is part of this V18 unit using the big 13k reels.

Both arms will have the 1/2" spindle shafts.

The upper feed on a Kelmar can be made to work by making an adapter plate for the top of the projector. The lower arm is an issue since the timing belt drive is 2 + inches further out than a typical Simplex or Century soundhead. On the installs we did with Cinemeccanica on an American console we fitted the bottom support of the projector mount with an idler pully shaft with two support bearings and a belt pulley ( for Kelmar arem ) and timing pulley ( for Cinemeccanica drive gear ) on each end of the shaft.
