Does anyone know where the gain controls are on a Sound Associate SA 520C Amp? Think these are Quad amps rebranded

Yes - rebranded and with the controls removed
There are holes behind the facia however you'd need to stick you own 10k pots in and butcher the front panel

Yes logarithmic 10K potentiometers, or just conected to system and trim levels with potentiometer no you're processor output card if is use for cinema.

Leave them as they are, the gain is adjusted on the processor output card. That is how Sound Associates arranged it on my Dolby CP55 unit.

Quad amplifiers are excellent. I had no problems with them all the time they were in service.
Amanda,
I have located my Westar projector series 2001 models -E –F –G –H manual, which I will upload to Film-Tech some time.

Hopefully it not this quad amplifier in disguise. Had one years ago.... not very good sounding compared to todays stuff imho. But doing the mod might help it out quite a bit.....

The first Quad SA 520c cinema amplifiers I saw did have the gain controls on the front but bolted down which looked bloody awful.
Hopefully they are an improvement on the model Mark mentioned. All I can say is that I had as good sound as the Odeon until they installed SRD. However the SA 520c is aged now, so it might be advisable to get them checked over and serviced by Quad.
