Hi
Have got a few VIC 8's that on lens changes the apperture plate does not sit perfectly square causing the FUZZY line on the bottom of the screen or they don't travel all the way to their stop causing the FUZZY line on the left of the screen.A little flick with the finger cures the problem. They have been removed several times and the whole area cleaned but the problem still sneaks back after time.
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian
the spring adjustment is very touchy, also very carefull application of graphite powder on the edges of the plate will help.
I may have a new plate around.
Stan.

..is the cam that the pin on the turret look worn. Had one Vic8 that used to do the same and just tapped the aperture in when switching to scope..
Fuzzy bottom could be the adjusters on the lens are out of adjustment to center the image on the screen.

Thanks Guys
Stan-that's the way I've been thinking that all that is needed is a bit of lubrication but wasn't sure due to the heat.
Gordon - it could be heat because I think it happens later on in the day rather than the first shows. One has a 5k lamp, the others have 2.5k lamps. If it is heat what is the solution?
Monte-all we do to fix it is tap the plate,it's just a pain as you may not see the problem untill after you have threaded up a couple more shows in other auditoriums and then come back to do a check. The fuzzy bottom edge is just the plate not seating correctly.
Thanks
Ian

The VIc 8 can be one of the coolest running machines out there as it is equipped with a excellent water jacket and air blower system
