We had been closed for 6 months for remodeling but have been operating again for 5 weeks and all the films have been playing in DTS fine until now. Basic Instinct 2 opened today and will not play in digital. Our setup is an XD-10 with an ultra-stereo js-200 processor. The readout on the xd-10 gives the correct reel position throughout the whole movie, but if you try and manually switch the processor from SR to digital, you get no sound. I tried turning the DTS off and on to reboot, but that didn't help. The print had been previewed in another auditorium (with an identical setup) last night and ran fine in digital throughout. Any ideas?

It could be that, for whatever reason, the language setting in the setup menu has been changed. It can be set "last loaded", the actual language (English, Spanish, French, whatever), ot "auto" in which case the playback language would be defined by an external automation command. Go into the setup and check if it is set to "English". But also check all the cable connections like Gordon said.

Two questions...

1. While Basic Instinct is playing, does the XD10 display show the name of the movie, or just the serial number?

2. Which lights are on on the front of the XD10 while the movie is playing?

The name of the movie had been displayed in addition to the number, but the blue "DTS Playback" light was not on. We reloaded the discs (for the third time) and now it has began working properly in digital and the blue light is shining bright.
