Hi,

I have a Neutaper splicer that is in need of adjustment.

One blade has a particular problem....it doesn't make a clean cut. I suspect that the "blade holder" is out of position. Blades are new.

Can anyone provide some tips on how to correct this problem?

I downloaded the Neutaper PDF from this site however it has only limited info on maintenance.

Adjusting a Newtaper is quite the task since you have to take the handle off for starters and expose the four screws on the two blade holder tabs-this is how to adjust the blades to make accurate tape cuts.

You loosen the two screws on which blade is causing the problem, and it's a very time consuming process due to the fact that you loosen the screws, move the blade holder tabs a titch, snug down the screws, press down on the punch assembly without the handle to see if the blades just rub against the dieplate.

If not, then you have to loosen up the screws, readjust for clearance and try again. If the clearance is good, then try a splice without the handle by pressing down on the dieblock.

If you got it right, then tighten down the screws, reassemble the handle back over the punch block assembly and give it a try.

Remember that the 35-ss is NOT a "scissors action" type of splicewr like the Guillotine or Italian splicer. You are only trying to cur even with the film edge. Louis
