This may seem like a silly question, but do most, if not all, rewind tables come with adapters to attach a 26" reel to each side? I noticed the Kelmar in the review section only had the small pins (I'm sure that's the wrong term for the thing that slides through the center of the reel).

We run reel-to-reel and I've been rewinding manually for the last year, which is really starting to take it's toll. I'm ready to go electric. So, can I expect electric rewinds to have adapters, or will I need to buy my own?

You generally get your choice of spindles for rewinders and most take several types with some form of "quick change."

The Kelmar RTV-8900 has about a half-dozen types of spindles to choose from. Off the top of my head, 5/16" key, 5/16" dog pin, 5/16" finger hole drive, 5/16" extended key, 1/2" dog pin, 1/2" finger hole drive, 9mm drive dog, 16mm square drive, 1/2" 70mm dog pin.

The table comes standard with pairs of 5/16" key and either 1/2" dog pin or 5/16" dog pin (4 spindles total). You can purchase separately any of the others in singles quantities if desired.

Note too, the table may be ordered with two different depths and with either single or double motors (forward/reverse operation).

On the Kelmar table one needs to note that there is a size restriction as to the size of the reel placed on the live end due to the length of the arm with the shutdown switch which can be an issue with the larger hubed reels

Wow, I want one of those. Now is it standard practice to play from it on first run and then remove it for any subsequent runs, or do you just leave it and wind on and off of it during the entire run? I would expect the former.
