In mine neighborhood theatres using pretty much vertical lamps, often they are XBO1600/ofr and XBO2500/ofr by Osram.
I'm wonder if we put 1600W lamp rated at 70A, and put 2500W lamp rated at same current, as it same condition in lamp house do 2500W lamp get more light at same current or more?
Also where some current vs. light output chart can be found for Osram lamps? Because I've search on net and manuals and I can't find it.
I'm asking this because in some places lamps are 1600W so I considering to put 2500W (because rectifier gonna hold as they good for 100A) because screen light isn't that good. Considering theatre with 8 meter width screen and 30 meters throw with 1600W vertical lamp?

I would. Not going to hurt as long as the rectifier can handle the larger bulb. But, you have to make certain that a strong exhaust flow is available since you're almost doubling the size of the bulb in the lamphouse.
With a 2.5Kw bulb going in, average amperage will be 80 to 90 amps for running a 2.5kw bulb at 75 amps will be too low for the size of the bulb and your efficency and life of the bulb will decrease.

Also check the lamphouse is designed for the larger lamp
so that the internal wireing and ignitor can support the higher current
Also the length of the lamps are different so can the holder be adjusted

Yes, I'm aware of all things considering going from 1,6KW to 2,5KW.
Lamp house is OK for 2,5KW because is same like is used in 1,6KW only lamp holders must be stretched because 2,5KW lamp is bigger.

The voltage across the 2.5K lamp may be higher than the 1.6K lamp. P=I*E; Power (watts) = current (amps) X volts. 21.3V X 75A = 1600W, 33.3V X 75A = 2500W.
