The 35/70mm XL's 35mm film centre is further from the reel arm mounting bolts than on a 35mm only XL, standard reel arns are about 1/2" too far back.
The Dolby SRD penthouses have mounting holes for 35/70 machines that line up the penthouse rollers with the projector sprockets. Without these "extra" holes you would need to use an offset mounting plate or drill the penthouse case.
Can anyone confirm that the BACP SRD penthouse is the same and will work on a 35/70 XL without any modification or extra parts?

I'd be more tempted to approach this from a more sensible direction and that would be to install a real projector along with the BACP.

I just replaced a BACP penthouse on a 35/70 XL last week. It worked fine, although, I had to poke around a bit to find the right holes.

Poking around for the right hole might be kind of fun if I can remember back that far.

I don't think we left anyone out, although the late, lamented Christie X35, has a bearing hinge on top of the projector that requires the use of a .5 inch spacer.
