There is threat for outing other bad film handlers, but lets make a threat for times when WE sucked as film handler! This can include anything from wrong film placing to careless splicing, brain wraps, film thrown e.t.c
I'll go first. I recall a few years ago when I was replacing a projectionist for a night off in one of the local theaters, we were showing 4 films at that time in a 2 screen cinema. I started the afternoon show only to find out that the film I was showing was the wrong one! It was one of the few times I felt really embarrased. I did a change in the film in no less than 15 minutes (after we discovered the error). This was a changeover venue with 1 projector in each theater running of 1800m spools so intermission was made at each film. 13 minutes after the trailers and concession ads finished, I realised that I had the wrong print on! Sorry to the people who attended that embarassing night.

The first time I ever built film onto a platter, I put in a "reversed" splice between the trailers and the feature, and it was one of those times when there was no time for a pre-screening. That was in 1980. There have been other "events" of course, but that was probably one of my most red-faced moments because I'd bragged our new system up to everyone for days previous.

My first night in the booth I had three brain wraps. Ever since, I've had, maybe, three, and they were either due to mechanical error or water leaking from an HVAC vent.
