Just wondering if theres a easy way to use 5.1 or at least 4.1 sound when I have a DVD/CD player or a computer hooked to our sound system. We have a Cp55 w/ split surrounds, and a DTS6 system. On Saturday we are having a late night Live VJ session and they want to be able to use more then just stereo which we have been using for local films on DV or DVCAM through the non-sync channel. Can it be done? any help would be great.. Thanks...

if youre coming out already decoded, go into aux. At least it will give you L,C,R and surrounds

Route the dvd audio into the bypass contacts of the db50 connector on the dts6
If the DTS is off line it will pass the audio from the DVD player to the digital input strip on the cp55

Too bad he didn't have a CP-500 since there is a matrix option in that processor (in the setup menu) to take the two N/S inputs from any source and this option would matrix the sound to all six channels..

If there's an SRA5 present, you can route the 2 channel in via the n/s input on the SRA5. Assuming it's wired the DA20 way, all you then need is one wee switch to change what the control wiring is doing (put the SRA5 into n/s mode, but leave the CP55 in 05).

Works like a charm!

Get yourself a DVD player with 6-channel audio out. I've found that the El-Cheapo players are more likely to have a nice six-pack of RCAs on the back, and it sounds awesome, especially when your picture source is a Christie CP2000 [Wink]
