Friends of THE BIG SCREEN.

I hope many of you will come and see Cinerama and 70mm in all its splendour. Everything is included this year: Lectures, format demonstrations, Todd-AO, 3-strip Cinerama, Panavision, Panavision 70, 70mm widescreen blowups, screens in all sizes and shapes, flat, small, big and curved, costumes by Yves Saint-Laurent and Christian Dior, substandard movie formats like 35mm and 16mm, Technicolor, Eastmancolor, movies without color and faded colours, first person experiences, we got all of it - including good English lager - where to get all this? ONLY @ the Pictureville cinema, Bradford, England from March 15 - March 19, 2007.

In my mind it may have been filmed with Panavision(TM) lenses, but this film was 1.85:1.

"Who Framed Rodger Rabbit" is indeed 1.85 but they did incorporate the use 8/35 (VistaVision) probably for the effects shots only.
Others here may know more.

I won't be able to make it again this year; working during the week, projecting on Saturday and need a break on Sunday. The trains are terrib;e on Sundays too.

VistaVision was used to photograph all the live action shots that were later combined with animation. So that means about 80% of the film was shot 8 perf. I believe it was the largest use of 8 perf since the last VV film was shot in the 60's...
