If anybody has any documentation concerning those ancient Norelco platters, can you please e-mail it to Brad or contact me, it would be useful at some of our old drive-ins.

Just to answer your dangling question...
... Yes the Sac 6 D/I still had the Norelcos last I worked there in August and supposedly still do. We had a manual kicking around but the wiring there is "custom" to say the least.

I think a couple were pulled out of a San Jose theatre in the last few months as well but I lost track.

Just noticed the manual now. Thanks for getting that up there so fast.

And yes, Sacramento has those platters, as do almost all the other drive-ins I work for.

As for old Rotomatics,we use two of them at the Orpheum in Okmulgee, OK. They operate smoothly. Repair parts are a bit costly, but then they don't need them too often.

Is it possible, and practical, to adapt the new-style payout unit to the Rotomatic?

There are a pair of them in Twin Falls, ID at the Twin 12 that have been running for well over 30 years... they are still running on the original motors and have had just a few control box repairs.
