Not an emergency, but it's bugging the crap out of me, and since I can't call Neumade on a Sunday, I thought I'd see if anyone has any insight on this.

I have a Neumade Neutronic platter whose middle deck will creep whenever a brain is inserted. It is known that: a.) said brain works normally on other decks on this system and other systems, and b.) other brains, when used on deck in question, cause the same problem. I have swapped out the control arm assembly with a brand new-from-the-package one. Still the same problem. Curious: the new control board does NOT have a LO pot. I can adjust the HI pot to stop the creeping, but then the high speed is way too slow. How am I to correct the creeping without a LOW pot? As far as I can tell, all the electronics for the platter are on this board (and please do correct me if I am wrong about this), so what else could cause this problem?

If I can't find the answer, I'll give Neumade a call tomorrow.

I have to put up with quite a few of these heaps too... what did you find on it? There have been so many versions of the boards for these I lost count a while back.

I got the pinout for the connector on the end of the arm from Neumade. The suggestion is that perhaps the part of the transformer that controls that deck is not putting out the right voltage. I have not had a chance to get back to that thater to test it. When I find a solution, I'll let you know what it is.

Which version of brain do you have? Is it the on/off kind or a variable speed. If it's a variable speed, you can adjust the control arm by turning the allen screen on the control arm. Hold the arm tight while turning the screw back or forward. If its an on/off, then you got to adjust the LO end pot on the old board.

So how would he adjust the new board...assuming the old board is non-functional which lately seems to be more the case than not.
