This came from my Devry. I have a bag of these but all are old and filed to odd shapes that do not meet my needs.

Someone told me they are the same as Simplex or Century. Can anyone confirm this as I would like to order some new undersized plates.
Thanks!!

Best thing to do is get some Simplex plates and compare them. They might work, but it looks like you might have to cut the end down to make it fit.
What format was this thing cut for? It looks like the image is taller than it is wide (the only thing that comes to mind is one of the three Cinerama panels)!

Frank
Many are wider then scope or far off centered to one side or the other or as you observed to tall. I have about 15 of these and all are goofy

Last known supplier was Wolk in Chicago. And, yes, they DO look a bit like an E-7 plate.
Remember any piece of metal will work, if you can reuse the handles! Louis

..couldn't someone just braze in some brass to fill, then do some recutting for correct size?

Monte good idea. I wonder if solder would work. I am not working with a lot of light output from the lamp to be a concern.

No, since the lead base has too low of melting point to withstand the concentrated heat from the light source - why I recommend using brazing rods and torch to add a small sheet of brass then refile.

Silver solder will work

(Thx Gord, forgot about silver solder and that would hold up nicely with his low light situation....)
