I mean the Cat.No.85 or 85C. It has been a long, long time since I last worked with a CP50 - I just don't remember!

Also, are the terminal strips for the solar cell inputs still available as parts? Well, I guess I should ask Dolby that, just wondering if any of you has ordered any of that stuff in recent times.

Yes, Yes.

The Cat 85 goes in the Cat 110/160 slot. The Cat 150 needs to be bypassed. This is done either with the Cat 110L you probably removed from the Cat 110/160 slot (rotate it around it goes both ways) or a Cat 115 which is dedicated to this purpose...one came with each and every CP50 all of the way up until the end of production even though the Cat 110L was shipping in the unit once the Cat 150 came out to replace the Cat 110/116 combination.

Fanning strips are still available (or listed) from Dolby. DPN76026 for a 14-position and DPN76029 for the 12-position. You can also try to source them yourself or use spade crim terminals designed for a #2 stud (AMP and others make them).

Now there's a great idea if I ever heard one! So much easier, and probably cheaper, too. But why doesn't anyone do this? At least I have never seen it in the field.

You've never seen any of my racks then...it all depends on what I'm hooking up and when as to if I use fanning strips or crimps.
