Hello guys,

I'm still working on the automation status box in my spare time and have another question. I have everything going except for the stop button set. For the grounding of the 8 Big Sky automation boards, is it safe to hook all the grounding wires together on one side of my master kill switch? Each projector will have an individual stop and then they would be all ganged to the master stop. Do any of the tech gurus out here see any problems with this?

Should be ok if they are all on the same phase. If they are not then phase them or use a relay at each one that all tie back to the common stop switch.

A relay at each machine automation is the most desirable method for what you want to accomplish. You do not say if this is a SAFETY switch to "KILL" all rotating machinery or if it is a FIRE ALARM operated switch to "STOP" all programs and activate lights for exiting the theatre. In either event, the low voltage system with relays is easiest to install with less danger of power source interaction.

If you needed multiple locations for the safety kill switches, then the low voltage route is definitely the easist to do.
