I'm builing "Bourne Ultimatum" right now.

The print we have has a reference frame on reel 2. This frame is a very faded-out looking image. The very first frame of the actual reel has the same image, but only ONE frame of said image. Is it supposed to be that way (a quick "flash" on screen) or am I missing footage?

If so, I'll cut out the one "faded" frame so not to have a one-frame "flash" on the screen, unless somebody says that's the way the movie is made.

Yeah, I had the same problem building our print. Searched on here and with no luck finding info, built it exactly as you intend.

I assume that's the way it was supposed to come, but bloody stupid putting those kind of effects at the first few frames of a reel.

Edit - I had a new print, there were two over exposed frames, I left them in, leaving no reference frame on the leader.

OK, thanks....I agree it was stupid film editing or whatever.

So I guess instead of having a 1/12-second flash, there'll be a 1/24-second flash. Hope it doesn't ruin the movie for anyone! [Big Grin]

That missing half frame will undoubtdly ruin the total experience of the jiggly camera work! Don't forget to stock up on Dramamine at the Candy Counter!

You're sure right about the jiggle-cam. I watched a scene last night where two people were just "talking" and even then the cam was weaving and bobbing all over the place. Haven't watched the whole movie yet though.

An article ("The Claim: Eating Ginger Can Cure Motion Sickness") in this week's New York Times says that "Ginger has been shown to be effective in treating the nausea associated with motion sickness." It even cited a study that claimed it worked better than "an antinausea medication."

Make a sign and stock up on those tasty ginger candies? [Big Grin]
