Just recently I acquired 2 Dolby SR cards to be fitted in the SRA-5 frame cabinet.
These were sold to me as 280T models, but on arrival they appeared to be 280 SR recording modules.
I understand these are for audio recording purposes originally.
Supposedly they will perform like the 280T in play-back mode, but
are they really fully compatible and similar to the 280T model when used for cine playback or are there any differences?

Rob,
Both are the same card. The exception of 280T (said for cinema use only) is that jumper J801 is cut off. Look at pin A and you will find the jumper. If you are told the cards you bought are modified 280s the link should be missing, if not remove it yourself. J801 links pin A with pin 1 (on the opposite side). A 280 card with the jumper in place when used in a cinema processor will be in record mode instead of playback, an unwanted situation.
