We are running this print for two nights. During the first screening last night the DTS failed to kick-in until the head of reel 3 (we obviously switched to SR before this) but then remained in operation until the start of the end credits.

During the 'failed' sections our XD10 continued to display timecode and reel number but not the title of the film.

When the discs were first loaded onto the player, there were no messages indicating there was a problem. I have subsequently deleted all the contents on the hard drive of the unit and re-loaded the original discs but the problem remains.

Anyone else have problems with this film (particularly in the UK)?

I'm not familiar with this film...is it a new one or is it older?

We have had issues occasionally here where we get used prints from the US with altered new reels included (new music in credits so can't use the original reels etc.) In those instances the DTS discs come across problems if the file for the new reel is not included. Do you have the international or domestic version of the film's discs?

That may be your problem. If you can get the files for reels one and two from whatever version you don't have, you may hit paydirt. Just burn a new disc with th enew reels on and voila!.

Of course, since you're only playing it for two days...by the time you've read this the shows might be already over.

It's a new one. It played at my theater a few months ago. Though I can't help w/ the DTS question as we don't have it in the auditoriums that movie ran in.

Yes, the show is now over and we ran the second night in SR.

I do suspect that as you said, John, the print was made-up of material sourced from different versions, hence the partial incompatability.

Very uncomfortable film to watch, by the way!

I specifically remember this film had no DTS timecode in the end credits. The soundtrack is completely silent once the image fades out and is the red credits on a black background. With DTS timecode dropping out this way, the NS will come on and play over the end of the film.
