Anyone know where I can find a manual on this rewind. I need to adjust the Clutches.

Assuming it is unmodified, there is a large nut behind a spring on the left spindle. You can tigthen it or loosen it to suit yourself like an 1/8th of a turn at a time. The idea is to have not too tight or loose film wrap, but with enough tension to hold the motorlatching mechanism so the film does not stop in the middle of a reel.

You can have hours of fun with this tacky little clutch.

Back in the day, most operators would take the clutch disc out and glue thin felt like the stuff in Kelmar clutches to provide smoother operation.

The clutch disc had 6 or 8 little discs pressed into it. They appeared to be graphite. We used to push these out and replace them with short pieces of leather takeup belt. This seemed to run smoother.

Just about everyone did a better of of making a clutch, Golde, and other brands were all much better quality. The reels were great but not the rewind. Out of round shafts, spindles, clutch holder, etc.

I can't recall ever having one day of trouble out of them.

The Goldbergs, on the other hand, were always crapping out.

At the Capitol theatre in Rome, NY we have an enclosed rewind made by Chicago Cinema that's been in use since the place opened in 1928. Other than oil the shafts I haven't done a thing to it and it works perfectly.
