Did anyone else get the fax form Technicolor about switching couriers? I just skimmed it but it seems like they are switching to "Lasership"? What the %^@! is a Lasership?

Does anyone have any more info on this "switch" and does this mean Technicolor prints will be coming earlier, later, or the same two hour window on Thursdays?

I got the same fax. We stood around for ten minutes, going back and forth like Beavis and Butthead, "Hehe, Lasership." I have never had issues with Technicolor shipping, we usually get their prints earlier on Thursdays than Deluxe, although Deluxe's occasionally show up Wednesday. I am more concerned about the quality of their "quality assurance inspections," which are about as useful as a donkey's ass hair. Shit still gets through?

The way I interpreted this was that this would only affect the rare occasion when Technicolor requires a late nigh pick up right after the print comes off screen. Instead of using Sky Courier as they previously had been, they will be using this Lasership company. Standard print delivery and pick up will still be handled by DHL.

I've had 3 bills from Lasership. So far they have been 100% incorrect. First they double billed me, then they billed me for a theatre in Indiana, they they rebilled me for the first double billing even though they told me TWICE it was credited and cleared.

Gives me great hope for the future.

We also received a fax about Technicolor using Lazership, but then a few days later we received a fax about them using UPS starting in early October. Since this whole DHL issue came up, we've only had a small handful of prints from Technicolor (I think 1 Disney and, 3 Universal) so it's been difficult to gage whether Lazership is worthwhile.

The Tech prints we've gotten since July 1 have come by a private courier. The prints are shipped to the "Roxy Theatre in Aurora, CO" and then driven here. How this saves them money is beyond me.

Then they don't pick up those prints until we have other prints coming in, so our Wall-E print sat here until we played Wanted last week.

It would be OK with me if they went to UPS - we already get Deluxe prints that way anyway and we have an account with them, so it'd simplify things for us.

DHL still seems to be handling mine. Perhaps we don't have a local LaserShip affiliate?

Actually, we still have DHL, but they are driving Penske trucks.

The yellow cabs were "Bill Town Cab" My drive-in is near Williamsport, PA. I'll check the cans, but they may have come directly from another theatre.

DHL didn't pull out of everywhere, just areas they were losing money on, which is why Joe is still seeing DHL in Denver.

That's why our prints are being shipped into Aurora (suburb of Denver) - it's the closest DHL hub to here, then they are couriered here.

We get a combination of DHL, LaserShip and local couriers, depending where the print is coming from and when.

To follow on a previous post, I got the latest bill from LaserShip and it too was incorrect, keep their error rate at a perfect 100%

Mike, I'm really surprised that DHL does not ship to you in Forsyth considering you're right on the Interstate, and not obscenely far from Billings. DHL still comes to our theater in Langdon ND (pop. 2200). Their nearest location is about 2 hours away in Grand Forks, and well over an hour of that drive is on two lane roads!
