Just received the following message:
quote:
Attention Theatres:
Your theatre(s) should start receiving prints of MGM’s VALKYRIE the week of Monday, December 22, 2008. One can will be secured with a silver combination lock and will contain Reels 4, 5, 6, and 7. The lock is not to be opened until Tuesday, December 23rd per MGM’s request. The combination code will be available for release at 12:00 p.m. (EST time) on December 23rd, prior to the beginning of your engagement. Once opened, please place the locks loose in the can and return them with the print to DFS with your local courier once you have completed the entire engagement. The unlocked can will contain all enclosure trailers, reels 1, 2, and 3, a DTS disc, and a projectionist letter.
There are several ways for you to retrieve the combination codes that open the can, but the first retrieval methods will not work until 12:00 p.m. (EST time) Tuesday, December 23rd.
The lock codes will be available for you via several easy options:
Call Deluxe Film Services at: 1-866-524-3456 (FILM) - a message will greet you with the code information.
Send an e-mail to: unlockcode@etsdirect.com - an automated response will provide code information.
Visit the following website: www.unlockcode.bydeluxe.com
Via broadcast fax – a fax with the lock combination code will be sent out at 12pm (EST) on December 23rd.
If you have any questions, please contact Deluxe Film Services at: 1-800-734-3969

So, since this is apparently going to be an ongoing nuisance, and everyone knows how silly it is, maybe it would be better to just provide the above info in the "feature information" forum for the appropriate title.

You're right Mike. Because with every other release we are going to have another tread about these locks. And the locks are not going away for along time, till film is not shipped out anymore.

I wouldn't object to them being in the feature info forum, but rather than including them in the info for the individual movie, how about a thread dedicated to locked prints. The reason I suggest this is I normally don't look at the feature info thread unless I can't find a running time or aspect ratio.

If it was the way Mike suggested...maybe you would.
I admit I'm growing weary of these and the 'here we go again' bit.
