Neumade has been "out" since June. Lenny Dickstein does not answer. These are (were) the brands I sell (sold.)

I don't recall having problems getting Neumade. JacRoe is definitely "in-stock"

You'll find that:

160-2001 SPLYCEMAR SPLICING TAPE - CLEAR - per roll (8 rolls per pack)
160-2002 SPLYCEMAR SPLICING TAPE - YELLOW - per roll (8 rolls per pack)
160-2003 SPLYCEMAR SPLICING TAPE - ZEBRA - per roll (8 rolls per pack)

Are identical to "Neumade" as they are also supplied by Tokyo Seiki but to Marble (Cinema Equipment Corp).

Marble also has genuine 35SS splicers (see Brad's review of the splicers and tape here on Film-Tech, Film-Tech Splycemar Review

Honestly though...we have not had any Neumade product difficulties with tape cabinets or splicers...and we have taken deliverly on less common units like the 16SW and 35CS.

I do wonder where Wrong/Ballenswine gets their splice tape..it seems to be pretty good stuff, a big surprise considering how far down the crapper their equipment is..

Just want to be sure I understand correctly before I order, but are you saying that Marble brand tape is the same as Neumade/Splycemar (form the same source)? I only ask cause I'm tired of waiting for Neumade to restock and I can't stand Jack Roe tape.

Marble distributes two different types...one is the Jack Roe style but with Marble's name...they also distribute Splycemar tape...that IS the same as Neumade.

Note too... Film-Tech now distributes the good tape as well as some of the "special" versions of the splicer (8-perf, for instance).

Support this site...order from your Film-Tech dealer!

Did not know this. I will inquire about it. I know our dealer is an approved Film-tech dealer.

Cardinal got the first batch as they happened to inquire right as we were gearing up. We haven't got the dealer letters out yet, so your dealer might not know about it just yet. Should be sometime in the next week'ish.

Is this new "Neumade/Splycemar" tape actually sticky enough to hold? The last Neumade I had came loose several times from clean non oily film.

I have not experienced any splices coming apart with Neumade tapes (yellow & clear).

I use Jack Roe
If Brads tape is as as strong of adhesive as the ROe tape then good

Any idea who sells pre-perfed? I prefer to use a butt splicer over a guillotine and the last batch I bought from MPE stinks-- no grip to the adhesive at all. The stuff I used to like was the 3M stock that came on a cardboard roll.

Anyone making this anymore or does anyone want to sell me old stock?

"Brad's tape" is the same as Neumade (same model/manufacturer). If the splice area is clean and oil-free...then the tape will hold quite well.

Who makes the splice tape that Ballenswine sends out with their projectors..it is surprisingly good quality.

Anyone know who makes it?

We use the Jack Roe "T-stripe" tape. It seems pretty good, but nobody seems to know how to use it properly. I line up the stripes to mask the break in the soundtrack across the splice and minimize the amount of yellow striping on the image. Anyone else do it differently?

Are you also a distributor for splicer parts? I have Neumade branded splicers, but I believe in your review of the Splycemar splicer it was indicated that they are identical.

They are identical, as long as the Neumade is a "Made in Japan" version. Splycemar splicing tape is also identical.

I see a lot of people put the bar along the join of the splice which annoys me to no end, especially when they do it with the cheap "dashed line" stuff. The proper way is for one of the striped bars to be on one edge of the film and the other on the other edge. The bar should not be present in the splice. Why they even include a bar on the tape is beyond me, it just makes you waste a lot of it. There is no way to keep the stripes totally out of the image area AND the Dolby Digital area at the same time. I use clear tape for everything and there is no gap/break in the soundtrack area. If there is, your splicer needs some adjustment.

Tony, Jack Roe makes Strong's tape. If you prefer that type of tape, just contact www.jackroeusa.com It won't say Strong on the roll, but its the same stuff.
