Hi everyone,
I was wondering.. This little light bulp inside the gate on Cinemeccanican Vic5.. Are this bulp discontinued?
We have not find this bulp nowere.

This bulp is very small to light up the gate, i do not find the right size, i only find a little bit bigger.

Does anybody know about this...

Bulp = bulb

The type of lamp you are looking for is a "Festoon" type.

JackRoe can supply them, if nobody else can. There are also manufacturers of LED based lamps now with a Festoon package. Jack Roe's part# is CML6418.

Steve, I think that spelling is a result of his computer's translation program. [Smile]

I have a friend who is fluent in German and he always has his computer set up in German, his emails to me have some funny misspellings and syntax because of the translations.

Don't go to Cinemeccanica for the bulb unless you want to pay top $. I managed to find bulbs from our light bulb supplier. You'll find something to fit. I can't remember if it's 12 or 24volts. If 12volts, try an automotive store.

Hmm. Its no more than 3 euro I believe. 12V. Scott I think your supplier might be overcharging if you believe this part is expensive!

In automotive store I can find it here for 1$, no need to contact cinemec for such things......

the globes are easy to obatin but as others metioned the are expensive if purchased as a spare part , i modified the holders so they accept automotive globes 12v 5w they work fine (some machines are 24v) at a much cheaper price.

If we order it as a Cinemeccanica spare part through... let's say.. Atlab, you pay more per item. Though they probably just buy it locally and add 300%. Then if the part actually comes from Cinemeccanica, you pay the freight/import etc + the % added by the supplier. Therefore finding an alternative locally save you $$ in the long run, especially if you have many machines.

Anyone know what voltage and size the festoon framing lamp inside an original Vic 8 head is? Its been bugging me for ages, but if its 12V and a common size I might just pop down to the garage.

The Vic 8's I've worked on have been 12v. I can't remember the size - If you've got an old bulb, use it as a sample.

Yea, and if you just use clear threading leader(with visible frame lines) one doesn't even need a threading lamp, especially in that projector!
