a few days ago i had a problem with a cp650 procesor, projectionist call to my cel phone and he told me that the procesor didnt play the audio,they check everithing i told him but nothing hapend. when i arrive to the booth i found that the problem was that the fader wasnt in local modeso i think some one change it.
yesterday the proectionist so another weird problem after one trailer, the display looks fine but the power sitch was red(like in bypass) and the select format change to #01.
when the movie finish they turn off and on the procesor and after that everithing is ok.
did some one have any idea what hapen?

Couple things come to mind:

Have you had any power issues in your theatre? (Blinking/dimming lights, etc.?) A bad enough power glitch can cause the processor to shut down or reboot.

You should get a UPS for your processors, an inexpensive one like APC'S Back-UPS ES350 will work fine. You will have to leave it and the processor on all the time (which is not a bad thing really.)

Make sure your wake-up settings are for local fader and whatever format you prefer (05 is my suggestion.)

It is also possible that the power supply in the CP-650 is going bad, power supplies were never Dolby's strong point.

I'm glad somebody else has had the fader mysteriously change to the remote setting on them! Only happened once & until now I thought somebody was just trying to mess with me.... ofcourse they might be messing with both of us.

The change to Auditorium fader is most likely done by mistake.

If you hit the grey buttons on the front of the CP650 in sequence...whola, you are in auditorium fader mode. Hit them again in sequence, and you are back in local fader...but....the volume will be at zero until you raise it.
