Hey everyone, I'm popping back up to see if anyone has a PDF of the manual for the USL CS-200. I recently bought one for my basement screening room. The front cover is labelled "Models CS 135-200", my unit has all the available slots ocuppied, so I assume it's the CS-200 model.

Do yo mean the JS-200. There is a manual in the manual section for it.

Nope, definately a CS model. It wears their "35/70 mm processors" label.

The format card has Mono, SVA, Surround, Mag & Mag-NR hard push buttons, like a CP-50.

The CS series is slightly older, but there are still a lot of them out there.

I installed one for a friend a couple of years ago and couldn't find a
manual either. But the CS and JS are close enough that you can
use the JS-200 manual for reference.

The ins/outs & setup are pretty much the same.

The major difference is that on the CS unit, the push buttons on the
"Format Module" are 'hard switches' while the newer JS has "soft
(eletronic) switches.

If I recall, one thing this meant is that I had to provide
constant contact closurefrom the automation or
remote switches to the "automation"terminals in the back
to remotely switch formats, whereas the JS 200 will take
a momentary pulse to switch formats.

There is but one CS 10-100 left amongst my customers. No plug in pink noise card was made for these units so set up requires an external calibrated PN source. You will also find a somewhat uneven response fomr the A-Chain if you use a red reverse scan reader. The slit loss hinge point is designed for older 1.5 mil slit lenses.

the preamp had a ganged pot for slit loss adjustment on both the left and right channels
A decent product and a real smooth logic circuit in the matrix

The CS-series is the first Ultra Stereo processor and it won Jack Cashin his first Technical Achievement Academy Award for the Matrix in it.

I am not in the office today yet tomorrow I will scan the manual and get you a copy.
